Applications

Linear bearing is a kind of linear motion system, used for linear stroke and cylindrical shaft. Because the bearing ball is in contact with the bearing jacket, the ball rolls with the minimum friction resistance, so the linear bearing has small friction, is relatively stable, does not change with the bearing speed, and can obtain the smooth linear motion with high sensitivity and high accuracy. Linear bearing consumption also has its limitations, the most important is the bearing impact load capacity is poor, and the bearing capacity is also poor, followed by linear bearing vibration and noise at high speed. Linear bearing fast and easy automatic selection has been included. Linear bearings are widely used in precision machine tools, textile machinery, food packaging machinery, printing machinery and other industrial machinery sliding parts.


The structure of the spherical plain bearing is simpler than that of the rolling bearing. It is mainly composed of an inner ring with an outer spherical surface and an outer ring with an inner spherical surface.
Articulated bearings are generally used for low-speed swing movements (ie angular movements). Since the sliding surface is spherical, tilting movements (ie self-aligning movements) can also be performed within a certain angle range, and the support shaft and the shaft shell hole are not concentric When the degree is large, it can still work normally.


Features

In order to increase the wear of linear bearing parts, maintain bearing accuracy stability, extend service life, bearing steel should have good wear resistance.

2. Hardness Hardness is one of the most important qualities of bearing quality, which has an indirect impact on contact fatigue strength, wear resistance and elastic limit. The hardness of bearing steel in use should individually reach HRC61~65, which enables the bearing to achieve higher contact fatigue strength and wear resistance.

3, antirust performance in order to avoid bearing parts and finished products in the process of processing, storage and application of corrosion rust, the bearing steel should have good antirust performance.

Structural characteristics and working principle

1.Overall structure: PHSA bearing is an assembly of joint bearing and rod end. The rod end processing has internal thread, easy to connect with other components installation. Inside the bearing body is a spherical sliding pair consisting of an outer ring with an inner sphere and an inner ring with an outer sphere (or similar structure).
2.Core components and Materials:
 Rod end body: usually made of S35C carbon structural steel and other materials, and after chromate plating treatment, with good strength and corrosion resistance.
 Sliding contact surface: Depending on the type, the sliding surface may use special copper alloy bushing, special zinc alloy die casting, or special PTFE (polytetrafluoethylene) lining with self-lubricating properties. Copper alloy bushing has good running-in property, excellent wear resistance and load resistance; However, PTFE lining is suitable for self-lubricating conditions.
3.Working principle: The spherical sliding structure enables the inner ring to tilt and rotate at a certain Angle in the outer ring. This automatic self-aligning ability can compensate for the misalignment problem caused by installation error, axis bending and so on, and ensure the smooth movement of the mechanism.


Main types and selection guide

When selecting PHSA rod end bearings, the selection can be classified according to the lubrication mode and thread direction

1.Classification according to lubrication mode
 Regular oil feeding type: the rod end body is equipped with a lubricating oil nozzle and oil tank, which requires regular injection of grease by oil gun for lubrication. This type is suitable for conventional operating conditions and can have a long service life when properly maintained.
 Self-lubricating type (non-refueling type) : the sliding surface uses special self-lubricating material (such as PTFE), and no additional lubricating oil is needed during the whole service cycle. This type of bearing is especially suitable for food machinery, pharmaceutical equipment and other fields where oil pollution is strictly prohibited, and the installation position is difficult to access and inconvenient to maintain.
2.Classification by thread direction
 Right screw thread (ordinary thread) : There is usually no special identification in the model, which is the most common type.
 Left screw thread (left thread) : The letter "L" will be attached to the model for identification (e.g. PHS12L), and the "L" will also be marked at the end of the rod on the physical object. Left-hand threads are often used where they need to be paired with right-hand threads to adjust the length of the linkage or to achieve locking.


Selection considerations

1.Load conditions: Confirm the radial load that the bearing needs to bear and whether there is an axial load.
2.Form of motion: It is clear whether continuous rotation, swing or intermittent motion is required, and the Angle of tilt is required.
3.Environmental factors: Consider the presence of dust, moisture, corrosive media in the working environment, and the temperature range.
4.Lubrication and maintenance: according to the equipment maintenance cycle and working environment, decide whether to choose the model that needs regular lubrication or the maintenance-free self-lubricating model.
5.Installation space and connection: Check the installation size and confirm whether the thread specifications (such as M12×1.75) and direction meet the design requirements.
